Run problem after a lot of work

91 Samurai 1.3 FI, 61k miles.
Compression was 0 on 3, running rough. Ok. Pulled head. gasket OK, surfaces good. Valves on 3 stuck ope. Readjusted, replaced gasket. Now it has 160lbs on all 4. Cranked it up, purred like a kitten. Put it in gear, gave it some gas. Died. Will not drive at all, only idles.

Any suggestions?

My first guess

My first guess would be a fuel delivery issue .

Can you rev the engine at all or is it only capable of idleing? Does it die when engaged in gear or as you try to take off? Will it move in gear if you dont give it gas?

It will only idle. As soon as it starts to take off, it dies. It will move at idle if I don't give it gas.
Replaced the fuel pump, didn't help. Seems to have plenty of fuel but I can't check it very well inside the injector.
Computer?

Check the hose coming from the evaporative canister to the throttle body. Had same problem as the canister was full of fuel and any thing above an idle the engine would not run .

I'd double check the valve timing too.

2000 Vitara 1.6, 2" lift, 3" body lift, winch, snorkel, safari rack, 33" MTs, rear discs, steel front axle, 5:83s
SJ413K Pick Up, 1.6 conversion.

You can check your injector spray pattern with a timing light. Works slick!
