newbe question

My profiles says i have a 1988 suzuki samurai 4x4. But I am actually looking at buying one. Can you guys give me things to look at for when buying a used 1988 suzuki samurai 4x4? things i need to check for and how I might du that very thing?

make sure you pull the interior panels and look up in the wheel wells for rust

if it leaks oil its probably the distributor o-ring...

88 means its carbed. also means its a square vent dash.

if the t-case pops out of gear or locks up its probably the shifter sheet. easy $15 fix

look for rust:

in the fender flares (underneath, from inside, etc)
floor pans
rocker panels

basically behind the plastic crap that doesnt let water drain

check the windshield frame around the wipers and in the corners. pinion seals of it is stock as wellas the axle seals. all easy fixes

Don't worry if the check engine light is on either. You can turn it off with a little switch under the dash.
