Stuck Soft Top Zipper (Corrosion)

Went to zip out the rear window on my Tracker the other day and I could open the zipper all the way to where the two zippers go together. Once there I was unable to seperate the window from the top. Seems to possibly have corroded itself together. Has anyone run into this problem and been able to resolve the poblem without replacing the zipper? Open for any and all ideas.

Thanks
Bill

Maybe try a penetrating oil? Not too much though, you don't want to soak that top......

Cool Rusted Zipper!

Spray zipper with WD-40 or penetrating oil (insert the little red tube so you can aim the spray!) Try to avoid spraying the surrounding fabric material and let the zipper soak overnight. Next day, grasp the zipper with a pair of pliers and work it back and forth repeatedly. (Use pliers since the zipper pull will be too slippery for your fingers to grasp).

Be patient but firm! Good luck!
