Speakers...

hello there...

I don't mean to be a mean guy or anything but have you considered measuring the speaker holes themselves?

They are in front of the leading edge of the door opening just above the door sill.

Also, speakers actually mounted in the door itself would be a custom installation which none of us could actually answer with any major degree of helpfulness.

In most forums (including this one) it is really hard to ask a stupid question and many regulars here will attest to the fact that I am willing to help anyone if I have experience in the area.

However, there is a point where a question simply reeks of self-centered laziness.

Barring some sort of situation that I am not aware of that you neglected to mention in your post, this question is one of them.

a 12 inch a 15 if you use a hammer and arent too lazy.

anything is possiable with enough work. you complain about ackerdackerly but he is 100% right I have installed 1000s of stereos what will fit in a door is bependant on brand and the installers tallent. now if you are talking about the kick pannel they were originally 5 1/4 inch speakers with a plastic adapter to fit the holes. I believe that some 6 1/2 will fit without work some may require some work to fit there. As far as door mounting you will have the problem of wear and tear on the speaker wiring sinch the samurai door has so much dregrees of rotation (it can open realy far) there is also the issue of removing doors if not now in the future. also the doors dent easily possiably destroyinng your speaker there also isnt much room due to the window glass. so kick outs would probably be needed. so large infact that even a 5 1/4 would be allmost surface mounted. maybe you should ask this question over on pirate 4x4 they would love you

Cool Samurai speakers...

5 1/4 is the size of the factory install. Good luck and remember to let adverse comments just roll off your back. We were all newbies at some point. Good luck!
