New

After chasing other 4x4s over the years, I Finally grabbed an 88 Sammy. Needs alot of work of course. One thing I would like to upgrade is the carb. By and large I want to keep it pretty much stock. I have seen the Weber upgrade. Is there a cheaper one? Is there one from to be had from doner vehicals? Thanks.

carb transplants

Go to Ack's FAQ (the link is in my signature) and do a search for carb.

There you will find - among other things relating to the Hitachi - articles on Toyota Corolla and Hyundai Pony carburetor swaps.

I read recently that you can get a rebuilt Toyota carb from an autoparts store pretty cheap.

Hope this helps!
