Question about seats

As the buildup starts and i get ready to pay rr to build my cage im gonna need some seats. Ive ridden in trucks and buggies with plastic and aluminum seats and even tho im only 23, im jus to old for that.

So does anybody on here know of a good suspension type seat that doesnt cost a small fortune. Ive done some searches with yahoo and only found corbeau and sparco and mastercraft. They all seem like good seats and arent all that outrageously priced. Jus wondering if anybody had any expereince with any of these brands.

Thanks again for all the help.

Re: Question about seats

PRP seats are awesome and inexpesive compared to their competitors. Search PRP seats... I don't have the link at this moment.

Re: Question about seats

Ever think of a Bench seat?
A buddy just put one in his Zuk he's building UP from a plymouth van. It'a rear seat and is very comfotable and has grate support AND is a Perfect Fit. He wanted one so he could have his 2 small boys up front wit him.
(he's relocating the E brake handle)

Re: Question about seats

I put Hyundai Accent seats in mine, quite comfy,
there is a wrightup from someone doing this swap on izook.

if you put any seat that is 20 inches wide it will fit in there just fine.

take a look at the junk yard, you can usually find a set for under $30

Re: Question about seats

Tracker seats seem to be pretty popular, but a little too tall for my taste.

Re: Question about seats

IF you take the stock mounts out you can easily put basicly what ever you want in by drilling 8 holes and making some bushings. I had powered 300 ZX in mine (they weigh more than a trany though, and the mounts are all different hights). Iv got 93 Civic seats in there now, my buddy put Eclipse in his (those are very comfy and thick) I here Neon are an easy swap. As long as the mounts are all flat (like Eclipse, the Civic's took a hole 10 minutes to bend flat.) you can just make some (1-1.5") poly mounts from a poly rod you can get from McMaster for a few bucks and I use grade 8 bolts with some washers.

Re: Question about seats

I put dodge neon seats in 2 of mine and a set in my friend. ride great and gives you a little more leg room and set you up a little more.

Re: Question about seats

Ive got a KILLER set of factory seats. A good friend of dads own an upholstery shop and redid my seats a few years back. Super comfy. In fact they are the most comfortable seats ive ever had in a vehicle.

I jus need a true race type seat for the cage.

Re: Question about seats

I have had stock, Maxima, and Prelude seats in my sami.
The stock ones didn't cut it, so I sold them (in good shape). The Maxima wore out (junk yard specials).
Now I have Prelude seats in. So far I like the Prelude seats except they do not have lumbard. The Maxima's did and it was nice, but they didn't fit quite as well.

Re: Question about seats

I installed the smallest APC (american product company) bucket seats and they are very good. Not the best but great for 150 bucks a seat. mine is a daily driver and it is more comfortable than the metro seats I had previous. the footprint is about the same as the stock sami seats. HtH
