Rear Diff 2 Pin Locker??

Just wondering,
I have a 95 Sammy and am putting in a locker in the rear diff. Now, I ve heard that a diff from an 88 is better because it has 2 pins and the sidegears are machined differently or something like this... Can anybody shed some light on this subject?

Also, are the gear ratios the same from 1988 to 1995 ?

Thanks to all who respond..

Re: Rear Diff 2 Pin Locker??

For the rearend, the only difference is the side gears. You will need a set of rear side gears out of a '92 or older differential.

For a '90 and newer front differential you need the 4 pin carrier from an older front diff to run a locker.
