Fuel Injection to carb swap

A friend has a 92 Samurai that he wants to convert from fuel injection to stock carb, not a webber. Has anyone done this and how involved is the conversion.

Don't know why someone would want to do that... and would not be easy. the computers are not the same, nor are the wiring harneses. Plus it would never pass emissions if he needed it to.

I agree, but I am not an expert. I don't think it would work. It might work with a Weber or a Pony.

Re: Fuel Injection to carb swap

Converting to a stock carb would involve swapping the wiring harness, distributor, coil, ECM, intake manifold, and the miscellaneous sensors.

Re: Fuel Injection to carb swap

Why not just go with a weber? It would probably cost more to get a harness computer and stock carb, not to mention more work. Iv got a weber and don't have a single piece of emissions equipment aside from the CAT and I passed NJ inspection no problem.

Actually I was thinking about switching to FI b/c Im putting a T3 turbo on mine. I was going to box the carb up, but maybe we could do a swap?

Re: Fuel Injection to carb swap

I appreciate the responces, however we are in the process of doing it. We will let everyone know in a couple of days if it works or not.

Mug Shot, we may want to take you up on the trade. Will get back to you.
