Tracker engine build up

I have a 90 1.6 I am building to put in my 94 tracker.
What is the best cam, piston and company to buy from. I am looking for torque. I am running 5;12s automatic with 31s.
Thanks for the help.RangerRick

Re: Tracker engine build up

Asian Auto Parts of Arizona, Roadless Gear are Hawk are the only three companies I know of that have 8-valve 1.6 stuff. I am getting ready to rebuild my 8-valve, and will go with the AAPA goodies. I hear good things about their torquer cam.

Re: Tracker engine build up

Rick,
Go straight for the 1.6 16 valve! IT BOLTS RIGHT IN and the wiring is easy and straight forward. I have swapped over several older Tracker's with the 1.6 8V in them for the 1.6 16 valve. For the $$$$ you'll spend building up the *v you could have had a 16V with MORE POWER!

Just a thought....E-mail me if you want one. I have several running 16 valve motors that are higher mileage and could use a good going through or lower mileage ones that are in excellent condition.

If you're gonna spend for new pistons anyways, check out the big bore set here:
