I doubt it makes a difference but, the other day I whent to get some stuff to do a regular tunup and realized FRAM oil filter #'s are all different for the Samurai, Sidekick, and Tracker. Why would the Kick and Tracker be different?

I only realized this b/c Iv been using the 1.3 filter for the past few months, forgeting I put a 1.6 in.

Check this page out about oil filters. You'll pick a different filter next time.

Re: Oil filters different?

Hmmm...I have used Fram filters for years, as well as a lot of friends that build racing engines. I have had several of my vehicles make it over 200000 miles(including my sammy at better than 250000)
I would be suspect of any test of oil filters that says the Deutsch from AutoZone is one of the best you can buy?!?!
Also shouldn't you actually get the filters wet with oil?? You know, maybe put them on an engine or something??
You can't tell how well something works by cutting it open, and looking at the inside.
