My Sweet New Ride

I came across a mint zuk at a neighbor of one of our customers.
It was sitting under a car port with exp. plates. Knocked on the door, but no one was home. Left my number and didnt hear anything for 2 weeks. I finally recieved a call from the owner.
It went something like this.
Are u interested in selling zuk?

well, I guess i could. It has been sitting for about 2 yrs.

How much would you want for it?

No more than a coulple hundred dollars?

Ok, I will be there.

After a week of waiting, I finally get to pick it up.
The guy said as he was cleaning it out, someone else drove up and offered him cash for it on the spot. I thought, now he is going to raise the price on me. I then replied" You will still take $200.00 for it right?" He still honored our original agreement. We were unable to get it started, so we pushed it on the trailer and headed home. After pushing in the garage and pouring some fresh juice down the carb, we jumped the battery and it fired right up.
The zuk is an 88.5 with 104k miles. The guy was the original owner. It still had the original radio by clarion. Factory a/c, Tach all still work. Not a dent in the body. The only thing i have done was overhaul the brakes and install a new battery, throttle cable. Not bad for $200.00 Cant wait to get it on the trails.

Re: My Sweet New Ride

Thats better than my deal. My highschool football coach asked me to make a 220 receptacle into a 120. I did and he said how much do i owe you. I told him id take his zuk considering it had a bum motor. So i got it for the price of a 120v receptacle, 2 wire nuts and about 30 minutes of work.

It spun the rod bearings on #'s 3 and 4 so i had to buy a crank and rebuild the motor. Think ive got like 800 in it.

Cant wait to see pics of yours
