Blocking off stock oil pressure sender port

Ok, it looks like my stock oil pressure sender is barfing oil all over the place. So, tonite I was going to go get a 1/8 28 BSPT bolt/plug whatever, probably in brass from the plumbing area at home depot, teflon tape the threads, and in it goes. So... does this sound like a good idea? Anyone else doing this? I don't care if the idiot light is on on the dash, I just want my motor to stop bleeding.

Re: Blocking off stock oil pressure sender port

Yeah, I've got an el-cheapo oil pressure guage sitting here to, but its NPT threaded, and I'm not ready to enter the nightmare of dash removal to get the guage installed yet either, so I just want to block that thing off for now!

Re: Blocking off stock oil pressure sender port

This issue turned out to be a simple fix - just leaky threads. Remove, clean, teflon tape - good to go. Thanks for the input!
