What\'s a Suzuki Chinco, and how do I get one?

A buddy of mine sent me this:

It's called a Chinco. He says it's from Vietnam...

Kinda looks like a Photoshop job to me but I figured I'd ask you experts!

Now that I really look at the picture...IT'S A FAKE FOR SURE!

Some people have too much time on their hands.

Neat idea though.

Re: What\'s a Suzuki Chinco, and how do I get one?

Sorry, I don't think that photo is fake. I pulled it off a Japanese Suzuki club website sometime around 1996-97. I used to have a website that had all kinds of rare Samurais and that was one of them.

I don't remember the specifics of it but I believe it was used in the Philipines/Malyasia area. There used to be a gentlemen on this board from that area and he knew some of the specifics.

Re: What\'s a Suzuki Chinco, and how do I get one?

That's all very nice but if you look through the back passenger window there is nothing on the other end of the back seat. Where is the door frame? Why is the perspetive of the rear door pillar on the drivers side all wrong? Why can't you see the rear door at the angle you are looking through? Why are the front windows there but the rear windows, including what should be small fixed windows in the back doors, not there?

Sorry, IMHO it's a fake.

I'm just stating that this photo was around before all the photoshop stuff (it's 7 or 8 years old).

From what I remember, it was built by a independent coach builder, not Suzuki. I believe the body was fiberglass and was made in very limited quantities for a tour vehicle. That's all I remember.

gi_zuk,
I have seen the same website you are referring to, but it has been a long time ago. It also showed Samurais being used in some parts of the world as police cars and other special purpose vehicles.
