loud fuel pump!!!

i recently finished the 1.6 16v swap on my zuk. i used all tt parts. the fuel pump that was included in brents kit has a foam insulation around the pump and then hose clamps the clamp the pump to a hanle like thing. well i mounted the ump/handle to the body and when the pump is on it is very noisy. i took the pump off and put a few pieces of rubber between the handle(mount) and the body, it helped, but still very noisy. any suggestions?

Re: loud fuel pump!!!

I have the same pump, and it is just plain LOUD! I have heard that enlarging the fuel return line helps quiet it down, but I haven't tried that myself.

Re: loud fuel pump!!!

there may be flow but low pressure, I changed that same style pump last saturday for that reason. What type filter are you using? I was using one of those fancy billet in-line ones. It used a sintered (pressed metal balls?) element and was intended for carbs and would not flow enough volume for EFI (most of the fuel pumped gets returned to the tank, unlike a carb set-up) but enough to make me think it flowed good. You need a high flow filter.
