Thanx to GI Zuk, plywood under the soft-top works.

My Fast-Back Soft-top had stretched and was flopping and leaking. GI Zuk suggested I put plywood between the targa support bars and top. I used a 24" by 38" 3/4 inch piece of cabinet grade plywood, sanded down with rounded corners and edges. I zip-tied the plywood to the targa bars, and put the top on. It was a perfect fit, all the slack was gone. No more wind noise, I have more head room (it used to sag), rain does not collect in the sag, my cats don't use it as a hammock, SAW-WHEAT. Plus now, if I ever have to knock on wood while I'm drivin', I'm all set.

"my cats don't use it as a hammock"

That's pretty funny because it's so true...

Yes indeed...I couldn't really call Best Top and gritch at them...I have this orange cat that weighs 17 pounds, and he seemed to like the solar energy on top of the black soft-top.
