Re: Pics from my 78 Toyota Carb install

2nd one- note the funky fuel inlet into the carb.... came off of a fuel inlet for a Lexus. 78 Toyota Corolla carb - Lexus fuel inlet, wierd how the Lexus inlet works as the bolt goes through center of the inlet and the gasoline makes a 90 degree turn into the carb... It works, couldn't find a inlet off a Corolla anywhere. Little bit of luxury in my Zuk....

3rd one - As the English may say "a clean bonnet" best part was ripping off the enumerable vacumn hoses. Really enjoyed doing a "reverse technology alteration" Now if we ever get Nuked at least I will have one vehicle that will work and the idiots in Washington cannot call "On-Star" and keep me from driving by remote control.

Re: Pics from my 78 Toyota Carb install

4th one - rather than dril out the clamp that the end of the accelerator cable attaches to I used my Dremel tool and ground down the cast piece on the end of the cable to fit in the carb slot. i don't think this weakens the cable any and I think the other solution would weaken the connection by drilling it out. Tool a little patience trim & fit & trim & fit.... Even used the dremel to cut the slot in the aluminum angle to hold the accellerator cable. Dremel is one of the handiest tools I've found in my 65 years...

Re: Pics from my 78 Toyota Carb install

PureEvil71 wanted to see some pics of my Toy carb setup, thought I'd sneak them in here so the reversed intalls can be compared. Sorry for the kinda poor pics, a storm is setting in (AGAIN).

Re: Pics from my 78 Toyota Carb install

another The main reason I turned the carb 180 was to get a cleaner throttle cable run than in the tech article. It puts the adjustment screws toward the engine but that hasn't really been an issue. I've had it at angles as extreme as an unlocked zuke can climb and back down same and it didn't stall.
