Late Fenders On Early Tub ??

I've searched and haven't found a difinitive answer on this. According to some vendors who sell body parts, there are different #'s for the early & late. Is the only difference the flares?
I'm dismantling my 91 and the fenders are near mint. I would love to use them but I also like the early flares...

If I remember correctly, it was Tim at NCO that told me that you can use early flares on late fenders if you change the fenders mounting flanges.

Looking at my fiche, the part numbers are different for early vs late flanges.

I am using a 91 front clip on my 88 Zuk with 88 plastic flares. I didn't have to change anything. You do have to use the grill for the year model clip you are using.
