New Tracker Owner Question re. Tire Size

Just got a 1998 Tracker 4WD Conv. today. Love it!
Vehicle currently has 215-75-15's on it. What is the biggest size tire I can put on WITHOUT lifting the vehicle. I am willing to buy new rims if that will give me a larger tire size. Any help is much appreciated.

225/75s for sure, 235s maybe, a guy on here has 30s on but he had to do some hammering and trimming I think (Daxe?)

Re: New Tracker Owner Question re. Tire Size

yep, what toyguy said.

I have 30x9.5x15 mud tires (which are large, true 30s) on my 95 tracker 2 door and no lift whatsoever. I had to take out the plastic inner fender sheilds and hammer the inside rear of the front wheelwells out a bit, plus trim the very bottom part of the front bumper cover. In the rear I did nothing.

I have to try REALLY hard to get the front to rub at all. The rears will hit the top of the wheelwells on hard sharp corners or in offroady situations, but nothing serious. I plan to put in at least a 1" spacer lift just to eliminate those minor rubbing issues. The other option is Grand Vitara coils, which would give about 2", but I don't want any lift I don't need.

If I decide to take those tires off or need to replace them or something I would buy a set of 235/75-15 AT tires and call it good. I'm sure they would fit with absolute minimum twiddling and wouldn't rub.

Re: New Tracker Owner Question re. Tire Size

I run 235's on my 94 tracker and it rubs nowhere at all.

Go with 235's 75 r 15s if you dont want to mess around
