My first samari

I JUST PURCHASED A 1987 SAMARI JX.I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS.
1.WHAT OIL WIEGHT IS BEST FOR 1.3L 150,000 MILE.
2.TRANS OIL 5 SPEED MANUEL.
3.WHEN FIRST STARTING IN THE MORNING I HAVE TO HOLD THE CLUTCH DOWN UNTIL WARM IN THE NEUTRAL POSTION IF I RELEASE THE CLUTCH MY ZUK TAKES OFF.

ANY ADVICE WILL BE HELPFULL.SINCE MY SUZUKI DID NOT COME WITH A OWNERS GUIDE I WILL HAVE MANY QUESTIONS.

IF THIS HELPS.I LIVE IN MICHIGAN AND THE ZUK JUST CAME FROM CALIFORNA.

Re: My first samari

1. Does it use oil? Start with 10W30 and see how it goes.
2 & 3. Change out the tranny and diff lube with 75-90, preferrably synthetic. It'll still drag the RPMs down a bit but it won't creep.

Re: My first samari

I started using Castrol 75K + 30/5. Usually I take a very
jaundiced eye at new products claiming such and such, but this stuff really works. It is supposed to soften seals and
provide greater lub qualities. All I can say is, I can definitely tell a bit more power (is that possible in a stock motored Zuk?) and it is a little quieter.
I have 100K + on the engine.
