locked up motor
well last summer I rebuilt my 1.3l motor with all new everything. worked great for over 10k miles, didn't burn oil, knock or anything. Then one day driving to town my t-case seized up, so I pulled it out and tried to start the rig, wouldn't crank, tried turning the crank bolt, no go. so I have since pulled the tranny to eliminate that, also loosened up the valves to make sure pistons weren't binding on a valve, also pulled the oil pan, looks good on the bottom. I took the timing belt off and am able to turn the cam freely, but the crank won't budge. Why would a lock up in the drive train seize the motor? Also I can't figure out what is seized. Probably a rod or something, but why. I guess the next step is to pull the head and then the bottom end.Any one else have a problem like this before? Any ideas what could've seized up?
