Here\'s one for the engine gurus

I have my new engine in, and running (or was). It's got about 20 miles on it....and it just broke the front of the cam....again!! I don't think it seized the cam bearing again....but it split the cam, and killed the keyhole in the pulley.
WHAT GIVES!?!?!?
By the way....I am in the market for a cam, pulley, and maybe a head....if anyone has something laying around

im no expert but my first guess is head gasket was put on backwards blocking off the oil passage causing cam to lock up

Re: Here\'s one for the engine gurus

Did you add some oil in the distributor drive before you fired it ? It may have run dry and seized at the cam gear . Also, if that head is severly worn in the cam journal areas , that can also cause this problem ....
