okay I know it didn't leak before I dropped it in but there is an oil leak on the back of the motor up high it does not appear to be the dis. but unknown at this time if I had aa dig camera I would take pic's but IB broke!!
it seems as if it could be coming out of the head gasket but I cant tell for sure,I used a mirror to look but still no luck any idea's? I put a dist. in it with a mo better seal the other one was waxed but still LEAK'S

Re: oil leak ?

chances are good it is still comming from the dis. housing. not the "O" ring on the shaft but the big "O" ring between the housing and head. you can get one for a tracker/kick 1.6 8v that is the same thing for around a buck at any gm parts place.

Re: oil leak ?

If its not the disty O-ring, its likely your valve cover gasket, mine was leaking badly, $11 and 30 minutes and you'll be set.

Re: oil leak ?

fgm 1, Where are you in Alabama? I found my oil leak when I loaded up on the trailer and it was off camber to the passenger side. Oil was pouring out the tube on the fuel pump. JC

Re: oil leak ?

Hey Bro,

I am in Montgomery but live in Luverne,I work here it's about a 40min. drive home if you ever went to PC Fla. chance's are you went right bu my house.

and now that you metion the fuel pump, the one I had new would not pump so I put an old one I had on it.and it is leaking mostly on that side up high.

Guess the best thing to do is replace everything.

Pump/orings/seals. but I am positive it aint the valve cover gasket

Re: oil leak ?

I have read that a bad fuel pump will either leak out engine oil or leak gas into the oil. Either one of these is bad. I knew mine was leaking oil somewhere, just could not find it. When I loaded it up on a side hill, I had a good puddle in a few minutes.
Have you ever been to http://www.grayrockorv.com/ ? I don't know many people with Samurais but there are usually a few dozen of them at the grayrock rides. Good luck on finding your leak. JC

Re: oil leak ?

If you get a chance, go to Grayrock. A stock Zuk will surprize you. They have great trails from very easy to very hard. Most of the easy trails are close to the hard ones so you can watch the kids with bigger toys play. They are fun to watch. Then we move on the medium trails. JC

Re: oil leak ?

Also check the PCV system, all the hoses and the T that goes down to the pcv valve. If these are stopped up, it will make it leak oil in places that seem like a place that it would leak. My 87 system was so stopped up that the fuel pump leaked at the tube, the valve cover was leaking and the oring was leaking. After the pcv system was clean out, I have no more leaks.
