Need GPS Maps

I need the MapSend Streets & Destinations USA software for my Magellan Sport Trak GPS.

I had the whole CD copied on to my hardrive, but that last wave of virus attacks toasted that computer. I have spent 3 days looking for the CD, but no luck so far.

I can order a new CD for $100, but it kinda sucks paying for the same maps twice.

Help!

Re: Need GPS Maps

I have a Garmin ETrex Legend and a GPSMAP 60cs, no Magellan.

Try the forums over at groundspeak.com. There's a GPS "Tag Sale" section where people are always buying and selling maps and stuff.

Or you could always try a file sharing service.

Looks like I got the wrong GPS!

Next on should be a Garmin!

Re: Need GPS Maps

If everyone else has Garmin all the more reason to have a Magellan don't you think?

Just sold a Garmin and got a Magellan Sportrak Topo with 128K of topo maps built in!

I have been very happy with the Magellan, but I have already had 4 emails offering me software for a Garmin, and no one seems to have the Magellan software!

I also tried Kazaa, but no luck so far.

I didn't mind spending the $100 one the software the first time, but twice?

Well, I have the request posted on multiple board, and I have my friends looking also. Maybe the original CD will turn up.

Re: Need GPS Maps

Mine's a Lowrance so I can't help either. But, I did look on eBay and if you do have to re-buy the software it looks like it's going for mid $30's.
If you registered the software, did you try calling the publisher to see if they will send a replacement CD. I've done this a couple of times (actually more that a couple) and except for a service charge, $10 or so, I've always gotten a replacement. One case where telling them the dog chewed it up usually works, plus they never want the remains back.
