Re: seats what do you think

Scott,

Personally I'd say don't get them. I bought the exact same thing in all black. (Axe racing seat) I believe it's a generic brand that just labels them whatever a company asks. The seats were very comfortable especially for someone as big as me(6'2" 250lbs). I paid $199 off of ebay but they were sold locally and I didn't have to pay shipping. I unbolted both stock seats and laid those in to get a rough idea. Very tight fit and they look HUGE. They were pressed against the insdes of the targa and came close in the middle. Plus the backs were tall and looked pretty funky in the sami. I sold the seats for $220 on ebay to a kid a locally a week later and bought a set of Mitsubishi Eclipse seats again off of ebay fro $25. Even more comfortable, the stock seat belt buckles into the latch on the Eclipse seat. Still a good bolstered bucket and cost way less with a better fit IMHO. Heres the seats I won the pictures are working:

Here's a similar pair again.. I paid more since I didn't have to pay for shipping.

Ok I rambled enough. Not sure if others have experience though. So I figured I'd let you know what I know.

Re: seats what do you think

Ya I will probably settle on just getting the standard jegs or summit seats. just figured these were padded. and the price is not to bad. these have a big brother that are alittle thinner and have alot more side roll to hold you in but they are 199.

Re: seats what do you think

I'm using Miata seats. Very comfy and the right size to fit in a Sammy. They cost $200 for a nice set from a wrecking yard. I then made custom brackets that tied into the rockers and the trans tunnel to prevent the all-too-common floor cracking.

Scott... run with a set of PRP's over the Jegs or ricer seats. I sat in a set... I liked them better than my Beards that I have in the CJ...

Re: seats what do you think

Iv had 300ZX seats in mine I just put 93 Civic seats in and my homey is putt'n eclipse seats in his. I dont know how much they charge around you ,but for the price you cant beat a U-Pull-It around here.I paid $20 each he paid $20 a pair and both sets look brand new. Not to mention with both we only had to remove the driver side stock mounts and drill 8 holes. I did have to bend 3 tabs on each seat flat,(on the civic seats) that took a hole 5min. perfect fit check out the pic's.

Re: seats what do you think

mug_shot - question for ya on your seats from a civic. Are they mounted so they lean back that way all the time? Is it the rails they have at that angle on the bottom? They'll sit up a little more, right? Or are you just riding it like a homey

I've been wondering about different seats and hadnt even thought of a civic and such.
