samurai or tracker transfercase

I am new to Samurai I have an 87 with no engine. I want to put in a little diesel. Is a person better off to use the
samurai transfer case or use a tracker case. I have both.
I have a 93 tracker transmission transfer case and the samura still has tranny and case in it. I see in the history that people seem to think the 84 case is better. Is there a good website that shows all of this info. I am starting from scratch on my knowledge so large flange etc are all terms I need to learn.

Re: samurai or tracker transfercase

if you are going to use the Acme kit to install a VW diesel, get the one that adapts it to the tracker transmission. You are gonna want the 1:1 high range that the tracker T-case allows to keep your RPM's low. Thats just my opinion, it all depends how much work you want to do and what size tires you plan to run and stuff like that.
