Stubborn Trip Meter Fix.......
This isn't the definitive fix, but all the speedos I've seen have varying degrees of play in the trip meter reset pin and replacing it makes a big difference. I used a #8 machine screw and enlarged the area where the pin secures so that it would "thread" in tightly. Cut to match the original's length, lube and reinstall.
It appears that when the tripmeter gets stubborn in resetting, the play in the pin allows the mechanism to "cock" on it's slide posts and the required leverage of the arm isn't achieved. With the machine scew, the play is minimized and the required leverage is achieved....
Pics will be coming shortly for those who might find them helpful....
