Switch under steering colum

New here. I have only had my Samurai for 1 year now and it has some electrical problems that I have been trying to fix. There is a switch on the underside of the steering colum that is not wired in. Can someone tell me what the switch is for so I can possibly get it working?

Isn't that the self-destruct switch??

It controls your check engine light. If it was wired in you just slide it to the other side to turn off and reset the light.

Re: Switch under steering colum

everybody must be asleep, the switch that you are talking about is nothing special, it is connected (or should be in your case) to the odometer. and switches the check engine light after your engine passes ...i know 60k miles and at 110K miles. but yeah not a big deal, basically a manual off switch for the check engine light.
