92 Fuel injection System to 87 Carbed Vehicle

Just obtained a low milage (68K) complete 1992 Sammy. Looking to install the fuel injection system onto my son's 1987 mostly (99%) off-road Sammy. He has serious carb problems when wheeling vertically. What entails this conversion? I see intake is different. Searched, but didn't really find anything.

Just did it to one of mine.
Includes manifold and sensors. Everything on the firewall that is connected to the engine. COMPLETE wire harness including ECM. Fuel lines-filter and gastank. The old inst cluster will work. If you like the newer dash better, that is easy to replace also.
Sounds like a lot of work, but it really isn't.
It only took me one day to take all this out of two and put it into 1.

Nothing, except "Check Engine Light " is on. Just picked it up Saturday in NJ. Got home and noticed a piece of electrical tape over "Check Engine Light". Going to pull the code(s) ASAP. May or may not put complete engine in his buggy. 92 is stock. His buggy is bored out, mild cam, etc. Contemplating our options. Have 11 Sammys between us, 6 running. 1st fuel injected one.

"except "Check Engine Light " is on" .....It may have come on because of milage.......Look under the dash there is a round pipe that goes from the driver side to the passenger side of the samurai. Off that pipe around the ign. key area there is a brace welded to the pipe with a SMALL black switch on it (it has three wires going to it .Red,Black,White)

Flip the switch the other way and see if the light goes off. Let us know if it works.

the newer grills are not a bolt in swap

and on 92 zuks there is a speed sensor so you will need the newer dash or mod your old dash for the speed sensor

You can buy new grills at site below. We run them on all of our older Sammys. Requires additional mounting parts we get at the dealer. I'm keeping the grill on the recently acquired 92.
