Over the top OTT Steering arm removal Questions

Heah guys, went riding Friday all day and by the evening I realized my front pass side wheel bearings had laid down on me, the wheel almost was ready to come off, I hope I didnt ruin my spindle....ANYWAY I tore into it today and have run into a snag, My ride has the over the top steering and drag link arms on it (dont know what kind) anyway..on the passenger side it looks like I have to remove the OTT steering arm to get my brake caliper off (for removal of my brake disk and bearing) It has two bolts (the ones that hold the brake calipers on) and the four bolts on top of the kingpin, I removed all of them but it still doesnt want to come off... any suggestions? Do I need to whoop on it with a big hammer ? Help guys and thanks

Re: Over the top OTT Steering arm removal Questions

I usually find brute force to be very helpful. but i don't know if i'd take my own advice, because i tend to break things alot.
but on the rare occasion i am successful! just often enough to keep it fun anyways!hehehe

GOOD LUCK!

Re: Over the top OTT Steering arm removal Questions

I think if you remove the tire you should be able to remove the caliper without removing the steering arm

or you might have to remove the 4 bolts that hold the spindle on that go into the nuckle to free it up

"to get my brake caliper off "... Mark even with a allen wrench(6mm) I think you don't have enough space to remove the brake caliper?

Or are you trying to remove the bracket that holds the caliper in place to remove the rotor?

Yes, it will, there are 2 bolts that hold on the caliper to the bracket, above the 2 bolts that
hold the bracket to the knuckle. Socket head screws as I recall.

Re: Over the top OTT Steering arm removal Question

My bad, Your right. I had a different bracket stuck in my head. The Sammi one is
like a spacer between the spindle and knuckle...
