any reason to replace my stock shackles?

Aside from looking prettier, is there any benefit to replacing my stock shackles with something heavier?

Running stock springs, spring over. I'm not looking for any more lift (maybe a shy inch in the rear, but thats another topic).

Re: any reason to replace my stock shackles?

The stock shackles can be wobbly since they're press-fit on one side and can be loose. You could weld that side and solve that. I've got 2 sets of shackles that I made a while ago and replaced, 1 pair 4.5 inches eye to eye and one pair 5 inces eye to eye, I'd sell both pairs to you for the price of shipping! Hate to throw them away. Close to 1 inch lift either set.

The stockers are very light duty. I have seen them fold over on several rigs while wheeling. I wouldn't get excited about it, but when you get the time and some spare change......

Thanks,

Seems that most shackle posts are about crazy 12 inch fangs, or screwing up the camber.

Probably leave mine alone until Mr Carnage motivates me. Folded over wouuld make for some good pictures.

Re: any reason to replace my stock shackles?

i ran mine pretty hard sprung over with stock shackles and they held up. but after i took it off the road for the body swap i changed them cause they started to lean pretty bad.

i went to reg. heavier shackles on the front and a set of Breeze 5"-7" DLS's I got used for a good price.

havent been able to wheel it yet so i cant tell you the difference...hopefully thats changin here in the next month or two...

i will be ready for gon zookin dammit!!!!!!!!!!!!!
