Re: Direct Hits anyone ?

I file that with the list of other foo-foo that doesn't deliver . Ignition boxes, real fancy "special wire" , special plugs, ect just don't do it for me since the net result is so minimal I can't warrant the cost . A good solid and stable distributor is worth spending money on as well as reliable wires and plugs . Even stepping up to 8mm spiral cores is money well spent . If for no other reason the do last longer . I just use a solid disty , Denso copper core plugs in v-groove style , and the old style huge Accel Super Coil (63kv) . For now it's just running some old 7mm wires , if they get bad the Accel will let me know since they will show burn marks . I've seen that coil almost fry wires in half , no brainer when they go bad . Direct Whats ?

Re: Direct Hits anyone ?

Direct Hits is popular in Europe and in Oz. Same idea as Accel wires. Seem to be popular, although not on this side of the pond.

I, myself, run a set of 8mm wires made by a local manufacturer. Awesome stuff. Lifetime, no questions asked warranty (taken advantage of once!) and a decent price.

Re: Direct Hits anyone ?

Alf,
I run them and have in both my zooks. After I installed them, I found that the motors spooled faster and it seemed like less pedal input was needed.........
I've been told that they now are quite pricey. When I got them, with a set of plugs it cost me maybe $65 US.......

You are in luck my friend.... I've been dismantling my 91 zook, so I have a set you may have. All you need to do is run non resistor plugs... This way I know they'll go to a good home instead of collecting dust in my garage/shop......

Re: Direct Hits anyone ?

Interesting that the results vary from no improvement to a perceptable improvement. Could it be dependant on the original strength of the ignition system? Maybe a weak system would yield better results than a healthy ignition...??
