I tested my old coil and got a reading of 1.7 on the primary check 11.71 on the secondary check. I replaced it with a new one from Autozone. It didnt solve the problem i was experiencing so i checked the new coil and got a reading of 1.8 primary and 10.91 on the secondary check.
The manual says primary check should be within 1.35 to1.65ohms and secondary check between 11.0--14.5ohm
I took the coil back and they checked it and the rest of the ones that they had and they didnt fall with in the range of the book.
What ohms readings does everyone else get on there coils. Is there a brand there falls closer to the specs. Or am i just being to picky.
Its probably your meter thats giving you a reading thats slightly out. You can't really expect to get an accurate reading of a coil using a handheld meter, after all you are talking about discrepancies that are probably less than the resistance of the leads and connections combined.
