Samurai Drivetrain Problems

Question for everyone

I have a 86 samurai and when i put it in gear in any range i wont move unless i rev the [bleep] out it , even then i cant move much, i m thinking i blew the back seal in the tranny because earlier this week there was a bunch or yellowish oilly [bleep] all over a snowbank we were climing,
and also if anyone can tell me where the trannyfill hole is

Re: Samurai Drivetrain Problems

I take it the Sammy is an automatic. If so reving the engine is only cooking the clutchs in your transmission. There is no need to refill it. It is dead and will need a rebuild. If it isn't an automatic then it isn't the transmission it is the clutch. Either way it aint good, sorry. Bryan

Sounds to me like an automatic transmission, therefore my first thought would be "torque converter took a dump"... Of course you may wish to have a tranny shop verify this diagnosis...
