No Good, Very Bad day...

I had a lot of things to do today so i woke up early picked up my Sammy at my shop and headed to the gym. I figured after the gym I could go grab Tomkat the rest of the parts he needs off of a parts Toy PU.

Well on the way into the trail there were some kids that thoroughly submerged a new quad that probably cost ten thousand dollars. They see me (and the winch) and after I assess their situation I agree to help. Unspool the winch a long way to a snatchblock then to the quad. I had about 8 loops left on the winch and I was a bit hesitant letting it go out that far, for good reason. Because as soon as the line started loading up on the right side - SNAP! There goes my line. The kids looked at me dumb-founded I figured oh what the hell... it happens. Little did I know it was only the beginning. Since this was at noon and I just got home.

Next after I threw 125 feet of winch line in the back of the Zook. I headed off a little annoyed but at least I was outside for a while today. Next, I seemed to have the grace to break every tool I touched. 1- 14 mm wrench, 2 sockets, and 2 ratchets. Okay... I get most of what I was supposed to although now I am aggrivated. So I decide to leave and chalk it up to a bad day... but no, nope, nada... it has to get worse.

Hop in the Sammy to head out starter poops out. Get a BFH and persuade it. Vroom. Get to the end of the trail lock in the hubs put it in low range... hmmm... no low range? Great, stuck in neutral. WTF? The shifter seems to have a mind of its own. I can't get it back in to stay. I think now the frustration is almost to its height when somehow I get it to click in to 4LOW... perfect? I crawl up and out of the trail get to the street, unlock the hubs and drive a long way in 4 low (read 6:1) slow.

I wish I could say this was the end but of course it was not. I park it in the garage, curse a few times and something grabs my eye. Oil dripping on to the floor with what? Coolant too? Oh no... I have no clue? I left it there sitting in the garage sick tired and wet (both of us, me and the Zook).

Brent, oh man, that sucks! I feel bad now, hope tomorrow is an uneventful day. Was the winch cable old? And the t-case, wow, wasn't that an overhauled unit? Lemme know what I can do to help!

The winch is a little over a year... Sh!t happens...I'll just have to get a synth line now. As for the Tcase... I hope it's not wrecked... the fluid looked awful grey. Who knows? Just crap luck.

Gee whiz, BL. You're a good doobie, you don't deserve that kinda crap. Maybe you should buy a lottery ticket or something.

HAHA... Maybe I should? You know, with this sammy it's not like it doesn't get maintained well so as far as this thing goes I guess it was going to happen eventually. All the other stuff I guess is minor. I just HATE when things add up. I didn't like driving all the way to the shop in low either.
