no 4x4! Help please!

My sammi won't engage into 4x4. It's drives fine in 2wd, but when i shift to 4 hi or 4 lo it indicates that it's in 4x4 but only sends power to the rear. I also hear a loud ticking noise in all gears.

First , put it in 4lo and see if the front driveshaft will turn . If it won't , then the problem is more than likely in the hubs . Take them apart and look for gumming , ect and clean as needed . If the tcase isn't locking into 4hi or lo , it may have sheared off the pin in the linkage , broke a fork off , or blown out the front output section .
