CJ\'s In Rear w/Revolvers ??

Has anyone done this? I'm quite interested in doing this.
I'm not sure if the Revolver will bottom itself out against the spring on full compression.....

Should be fine. They work on stock CJs, right? Logic would say the same for the Zook.

Looking to get flexy are we?

Re: CJ\'s In Rear w/Revolvers ??

Crow - strange enough that we were talking about this the other day and now there is an article on izook about Revolvers with YJs.....granted the CJ springs are slightly shorter - see pic below to see what my concerns were about the shackle bottoming out on the spring under compression.

BTW - I finally got the caster setup right and now the zuk tracks perfectly.

Re: CJ\'s In Rear w/Revolvers ??

I think that's happening because of the length issue. If the springs have been relocated so that the spring eye is directly below (or almost) the spring hanger, the Revolver should work properly. But is they are misaligned like in that photo, that's what will happen.

Crow - are your eye and hanger aligned?

Re: CJ\'s In Rear w/Revolvers ??

Crow I have OME ruf and revolvers. I used RRO relocation kit and redrilled it to keep my axle +2" forward. Revolvers are a little over centre but work fine.
I will be using my CJ's in the rear with Revolvers also. I just intend to make the hanger brackets so as to allow proper function of the revolvers.
In other words, i'll locate the spring in the best place for axle, and shackle placement.

Basically what YT says.

PS the OMEs and volvers make for real nice Rticul8in.

Re: CJ\'s In Rear w/Revolvers ??

I saw the article and it sure looks close.... Maybe with the shorter CJ's and because of the arch of the Ranchos, they might work together...
This is a pic of my old cj's with boomerang shackles... I'll take a pic tomorrow of the current setup.....

Best thing to do is just install them, flex it out and see....

This going to sound stupid....... I took the shims out of the spring packs - LOL. When you get a chance I want to get together so we can weld up that anti-wrap bar - call me when you get a chance.

Nah sorry can't afford digicams on state welfare.
But if I get a chance i'll snap some and get my broinlaw to scan them.
But I honestly think it's a go.
Your centre pin may be out a little tho' 'cos the CJs a have a centre location pin I think.
T'aint no big thoing tho'
An offset piece of 1/8th will sort it fine.
Or a redrill of the spring, but I aint too keen on that one.
