antinae?

I didnt post this on the wanted forum because I'm sure if anyone had an extra they wouldnt expect anyone to ask for one there. My radio antinae seems to have takin a tumble at one point or another while I was wheeling.

Anyone have an extra they wanna sell?

Re: antinae?

You can get the whole thing at Kragen for $11. I think it fits a Mazda car. I just looked at the boxes till I found one that was just like the stocker.

Re: antinae?

I got a power one off Ebay for $15, well worth it. I put it next to the snorkel, so it comes up in front of the windshield. Itís on a switch so I can power it down for wheeling. All of mine have been taken out in rollovers, I just canít seem to keep them.

Re: antinae?

OOh, there are windshiled antennas avail for like 10 dollars, they are similar to the heating element stuffs in the rear glass on cars. It just adheres to the edge of the windshield inside the truck, it'll never break unless you shatter your glass. Dunno how good it is though..

Re: antinae?

After busting off the stock one, I unscrewed it and replaced it with a $7 flexible one I got at pep-boys.

Re: antinae?

The windshield ones arent bad, just a little short in length for proper match (yes, regular radio recievers have
a optimal match length just like CB's and other transmitting radios).

I had to remove my replacement cartrige as it was hitting the new cargo rack. I twisted some insulated
stranded wire to the stub and taped it off, and ran it up the rack post. and across the front hoop. it works
great and isn't likely to get damaged except for gretting pulled off on brush. Even if it does, its an easy fix.
