Update Daxe\'s Trackick ! Done!!!!!

Daxe and I got a day out in the shop yesterday and we finished up the funtional parts of the project started at my last fab fest.
We replaced the windshield and tracked down the wiring problem.
(turns out that when "Someone" Hacked the front end back together, the inner fender was never really connected to the chassis/body so the "Ground wasn't making contact. I moved the ground to the inner fender and it fixed the "turnsignal
wiper turns on feature." ) This after ripping apart and swapping parts to narrow it down..

So it is up and running and once the tail light wiring is connected and a radio installed Daxe will have his winter ride.

I just figured the folks who helped with the transplant whould want to know.

Re: Update Daxe\'s Trackick ! Done!!!!!

Yes indeedy.

It lives. There are a few minor details to sort out, lisc plate light not spliced in yet, R Rear tailight housing not attached, needs a radio hooked up and some speakers (got all that stuff, just gotta put it in) and need to sort out odd running qualities. Muchos gracias to all who contributed to the project. So now I not only have a Samurai with a pink stripe, I have a purple Tracker, too.

Anyone wanna take a shot at what might be going on with the idle? Here's what I experienced tis morning:

started it up and let it idle while I fiddled with some
stuff. Idle started out high, like it should. About 4 or 5 minutes
later it dropped down all at once to around 800-1000, probably where it should be afer it warms up. Another 5 minutes later it starts to act like someone is inside it revving the gas rhythmically, from around 800/1000 up to about 2000 or so. Like clockwork, in a 4 or 5 second cycle. I let it do that for a while to see if it would change. it didn't, so I got inn and revved it myself a couple times. it kept doing the same thing for another minute and then it stopped and the idle
dropped to about 200 rpms and it was barely running. it stayed there. I got in and tried to rev it up and it revved ok, but when I would take my foot off the gas it would drop down to 200 rpm and try to stall again.

And then this wonderful example of the massachusetts RMVs legendary efficiency and customer service:

I go in there today with a signed over title and all the papers from my insurance company to transfer the registration. Seems I need to have a bill of sale since a signed over title isnt good enough.

RMV Beeyatch :Can I help you?
Me :HI! I'd like to transfer my registration, please.
RMV Beeyatch : I need a bill of sale
Me : I got the truck free, there is no bill of sale
RMV Beeyatch : He gave you the truck as a GIFT???
Me : well..it was more like 'you want it? take it.'
RMV Beeyatch : Then you have to have the seller fill out this form
Me : Oh. Thanks.

Suffice to say the title, though a legit title signed by the last person who had the thing on the road, had followed the truck through a couple people's hands before it got to mine, none of who saw the reason to reapply for a title since they weren't registering it. I dont know the guy on the title. Never heard of 'em.

I'll think of something.

thanks again everyone.

I did that. I even made him practice phonying up the guys sig for about 5 minutes befoe he committed it to paper. Problem is that I have the real sig on the title and the one on the "gift" form (or a bill of sale for that matter) has to at least sorta match the real one.

Personally I think they don't care if it's right or real or not, they just want you to jump through some hoops before they will give you what you want. Mass RMV

I hate 'em. Always have.
