410 - 413 trasfer box

how do you tell the differance between the the 410 and 413 transfer box , i know the flanges are different. i saw a photo/diagram showing how to mark and rotate the flanges, one box rotates more than the other, but i can't remember where i saw it, can anyone help

well most typically, a SJ410 t case has a 12 percent more reduction then the SJ413 case, however, thats only in 4 lo, to better test the reduction to decifer between the 2. To test, turn the input flange which connects to the tranny by means of a intermediate shaft, you must put both cases in 4 lo, count how many revolutions it takes to either the front or rear output shaft to revolve one time, that will give you a ratio, whichever one takes more turnning to turn, is the lower transfer case....other then that, Im not sure of a better way.

Not true billy, its both High and Lo about 12%. Thats part of the attraction to the SJ410 Mini lobster Xfers
is it will correct for 30-31" tires for the street and off road.
