Where does the oil come from..

..If I have a rear main leak? Yes, I changed the disty o-ring, no leak there anymore, replaced the PCV vavle too.

The oil is dripping from the passenger side of the transmission, not exactly sure how to describe the spot where its leaking from, but close to the front of the tranny.
Does that sound like a rear main leak to you?
Is a rear main easy to change?

And do it BEFORE it starts leaking gas into your oil, if it isn't already....

Re: Where does the oil come from..

Taz, the one holding the dist housing to the block is the o-ring that I changed, it doesn't leak from there anymore.

Its an EFI Samurai, don't then have electrical fuel pumps?

Re: Where does the oil come from..

There is another O ring on the disty shaft. Clean there and around the valve cover. If its the rear main it
would be leaking out of the flywheel cover or those bottom bell housing vents.

Re: Where does the oil come from..

I run synthetic gear oil in the transmission. The tranny leaks out of the seals that seal the upper and lower halves of the transmission case. Smell the oil, is it motor oil or gear oil?
