OT- Where did your name come from?

I was sitting here tonight looking through some older posts trying to find some answers and this question popped into my head... I can't understand what some of the names mean. Some are pretty self explanitory like CTBrent... Being that I am from that I am one of many Brent's in the Suzuki world I differentiated myself as the CT one or the one from Connecticut... ya dig?

I guess I should have searched this topic as it's probably popped up before but there are a bunch of newer cats here and this can apply to them too. So indulge me if you will... What the heck does your screen name mean?

Well there's not to many rocks around here to play on so I'm into mud, hence MUDFKR .It's easy to work out MUD-FKR . I tryed to get a personalised plate for my truck with it on and nearly got away with it too untill the Lady worked out it could be taken offensively .

Re: OT- Where did your name come from?

dreadsword is an anagram of my real name - Rod Edwards.

Figured that one out on: http://www.wordsmith.org/anagram/

Lots of fun!

I used dreadsword as my ID on every forum I'm a member of. I just couldn't believe the letters of my name could be rearranged to spell something so ... bitchin' sounding!

Mine is from 2 things, the WildWeasel ECM jets in vietnam
(F4 countermeasure jet) and a TV show when my son was little
(Centurians) Jake Rockwell had a ground weapons system called WildWeasel. I was building WW1 at the time (Willys M38a1 W a 302) and thats the name that we painted on it. the rest of the WW's have followed. And I have just kind of taken on the Nic.. Folks say it matches my wheeling style. Re: OT- Where did your name come from?

its my name....kinda. the year I was born lots of male kids got the same OEM name I did. In fact when I was growing up I had 4 friends with the same first name, which was confusing if nothing else.

When I got busy playing music in public I wanted a name a little less generic than the one I came with, so I just Xed out one of the letters and made a new one. I have been 'daxe' for about 23 years now (it rhymes with tax, by the way) and the name is used so consistently that a lot of people think it is my real name.

In a semi-related story, I also came with a really generic last name, which I always hated. About the same time I started using 'daxe' I started using an old family surname (Rexford) lost through adoption two generation previous. Daxe Rexford had a nice ring to it for use onstage and recordings and stuff.

When I got married in 1996, i decided to take that opportunity to legally change my last name to Rexford, which I had been using professionally since 1980. So far so good!

Re: OT- Where did your name come from?

Mine is pretty easy but some also know me as "redidbull". My Daughter and I were in a YMCA program called Indian Princess/ Indian Guides. The theme had us make up Native American names. Danielle always loved wolves and has beutifull eyes and took the name "Wolf Eyes". I was born on May with the sign Taurus the Bull. So she came up with "Red Eyed Bull" Not too sure of the red part. When my Son joined the program he took "Snake Eyes" because he liked snakes. Redidbull was just easier than writing the hole thing out. Jim
