Chris\'s first flop (w/ audio)

This is the guy I may be moving in with. His is the zuk we done the "Sky Mfg. axle truss" on. This is last weekend, we decided to go riding. Ran into lots of "interesting" people in the mountain. (seems it's harvest season)

Anywho, this is at the top of the "snake-pit". Perfect example of what happens when you don't do what the spotter is telling you to do.

Brad.

That's me crawling out & you can see that Chris is having a ball.

Re: Chris\'s first flop

Here's one of the "interesting" people we ran into. '99 TJ w/ 30" swampers. He's not stuck, he just sucked about 3 gallons of water in the motor. This is E backing up to yank him out with his V-6 zuk.

Notice the stickers that say "Jeep Recovery Vehicle" & "J.E.E.P.--Just empty every pocket"

Re: Chris\'s first flop

So, we get him out of the first hole. He tries & tries to start the thing. Finally, SPLAT!!! It launched about 3 gallons of water & 2 quarts of oil out the tailpipe. It's a good thing it had a rev-limiter too, 'cuz he held it to the floor for about a minute solid. Shut it off & thanked us. He wanted to pay us, but being the good 'ol boys we are, we refused. So he opens up a cooler he had in the back & gives us "wildflowers" he'd been picking up in the mountain.

Then, he takes off right back through the hole we just pulled him from. Hits the next hole & gets buried!!!

Here, we have to hook both samurais to him. He's buried to the marker light on the front fender.

Re: Chris\'s first flop

here's another shot. Just think if he'd actually "hit" the hole. He really just slid off in it trying to go around.

More "wildflowers" for everyone!!

Re: Chris\'s first flop

We get him out of that hole and try to "convince" him to head down the mountain. By now though, he really likes us and wants to hang out. You know, the people you just CAN'T get rid of.

This is what happened about 200 yards after we got him out of hole #2.

Re: Chris\'s first flop

We're tired of pulling this guy out by now. We call in the calvary. The guys we're supposed to be meeting at the top of the mountain all have winches. E gets ahold of them on the cb and they come to pull the TJ out. We convince him to head down the mountain this time. Here's a shot of a Ranger cab on half of a bronco frame. The rear is all tubed with a very nice 4-lnk that I've been taking measurments from.

We're turning around to head back up the mountain.

Re: Chris\'s first flop

Last pic. This is what's left of a samurai. It has:
samurai motor, tranny
dual samurai t-cases
'yota axles w/ 5.29 gears, both locked
3-link rear, 4-link front
38" swampers

Needless to say, it's bad-ass.

Re: Chris\'s first flop

All in all, it was a fun ride. Of course it took us 2.5 hours to get to the top of the mountain, usually only takes 45 min. Nobody bitched though, 'cuz we were very well rewarded.

Hope this weekends ride goes as good.
