Toy V6 vs. 4 cyl. diff. Are they THAT different?

I only recently noticed that the Toy diff's I have are from an 85 SR5, which I've been told were all 4 cylinders. Plus after looking at some comparison pics of the 4 and 6 cylinder 3rd members, I'm quite positive mine is the 4 cylinder. Anyway, I located a V6 rear from an 88 4Runner with 4.10's for $100 Canadian from a local yard. Should I upgrade??? Is it necessary? BTW, I'll be running a 4.3L Chevy with 33's. Thanks

Cheers,
Steve

for the xtra HP going to the rear i would. v-6 has more ribs on the cast housing and a stronger carrier. The 4cyl you have will work fine but for the price why not

You're probably right, could use the spare parts if anything. Gonna go check her out next week.

Cheers,
Steve
