petroworks grsII customer support????

not that it really matters, but i'm curious what others have experienced w/ petroworks customer support. not support when your buying, but when (if) anything goes bad. i bought a zuk w/ a grsII 'case and it started making a bad gear whine. i sent several emails to various addresses at petroworks explaining my problem and asking if it would be possible to trade in the gears toward a new set - NOTHING, no response what so ever from anyone - 4 emails and nothing! turns out it was a bearing going bad and the gears are fine, but this made me realize that i will never be buying anything from them. i've dealt w/ the spidertrax guys and they've been very helpful and take the time to respond even if they're not gonna make a buck. just curious if this is normal and why a company that makes what looks to be quality parts has such crap customer service.

I personally have had less than impressive customer service (and poor product quality) with Petroworks as well.

if the gears were bad, i probably would've called. it was always in the evening when i was working on this and trying to get something done - i assumed the phone would just ring.

Re: petroworks grsII customer support????

In my opinion, if you have a business with a website and an email address, you should make it a priority to check and respond to emails. Having, and especially posting, an email address implies that you can be contacted that way.

I have sent petroworks emails with no response and it has made me skeptical, as well.

In the past I have dealt with Rusty's Off Road for Jeep parts. I was told the same thing, "You have to call him. He's too busy for email." Well, he's got a toll number that I can't call from work. And, on occasion, I'd get no answer on the phone either. It's his prerogative to not use email and it's my prerogative to spend my money elsewhere.

I'm busy too, but email is easier for me than a phone call.

[/ QUOTE ] Bill's right. I've been to their shop and Gary was out on deliveries, Rudy could only spare 2 minutes of time between phone calls, and the rest of the guys were either on the phone or running around the shop. They really are great guys once you get their ear. Maybe they need more staff - maybe someone designated to email correspondence.
