New tintop project

I just brought home an early 88 tin top. Runs real good and has a Good body and decent interior. The bearings are shot in the tranny and it roars bad in all gears but 4th. The only thing that puzzles me is the clutch. The former owner had someone install the clutch a few months ago. You have to push it all the way to the floor and it barely works. It is also very stiff. Reminds me of the clutch in the 74 Chevy truck that my father used to have. Today is the first day off since I got it so maybe I can figure it out. JCC

Re: New tintop project

2 things I would look at is the clutch cable adjustment on the passenger side of the tranny, also if its stiff that might call for a brand new clutch makes a huge difference, my old one was just beat to death, engine had got ahold of it a few times and burned it up a good bit which made it more difficult to press in, I never cared, but a new clutch cable would have made the difference...
