Re: OT who on here are AF officers?

Just a crusty old retired MSgt here. I hung up my stripes Jan 2000, was already working in the F16 SPO as a contractor before my terminal leave ran out.

You're going to trade in your self-respect for butter bars?

snark! Do what's right for you! I've known and worked for some excellent mavericks and there's no beating the pay increase...

Re: OT who on here are AF officers?

Come on Zooky, give the guy a break. I'm sure he'll have to deal with situations like, "We're on TDY and the cable TV goes out, what do we do???", and "What is the proper fork to use with shrimp cockail at the DFAC?"

Just kidding, I went through AMEDD OBC. Pretty easy, our stuff just isn't as nice as the Air Force's. I'm actually jealous. Every time I see the Army housing compared to the Air Force it drives me nuts. Or heck, most of their facilities.

Try going into the clothing sales shop and looking for some guides. Some guy wrote and Army Officer's Guide that is revised pretty regularly. There is probably an Air Force equivalent. Ours is very usefull.

Enjoy!

Bryan

we went to the field with the AF sometimes. We would be playing war games from 4am-11pm and all they did all day was play football and BBQ (all 3 meals!). They were grouchy if we woke them up. Boy, we hated them. A few years later I joined the Air National Guard-life was great.

Re: OT who on here are AF officers?

They were probably playing "touch" football!!! I won't ask.

Air Guard has a darn good chance to go play in the sand box. You don't do signal, intel, or refueling do you? I understand those guys are getting some looooong tours.

This is my closest brush to someone important in the military. My sections secretary's husband (CSM David Popp) is the highest ranking enlisted soldier for the Air Force in the Pacific theater. Pretty cool guy and she's a blast to work with. I guess that only means something if you're in the military and understand how big that position is.
