How often does your rig see the pavement?

I was just wondering how many other Zookers out there find enjoyment in driving their built Zook on the road sometimes. I know they belong off-road & yes I do wheel mine. I've got a creme puff stock Samurai, a nice fullsize 4x4 PU, a new import car, a new 3/4 ton work van, & my built Zook on 33's welded front & rear. On any given weekend or after work 90% of the time I take my scarry cumbersome built Zook to run errands within 20 miles of home. I after 3 years I still love driving the thing. Most of my buddy's that I wheel with almost NEVER drive thier built rig on the road & think I'm crazy.
How's abotu you guys?

Re: How often does your rig see the pavement?

I drive mine to work in rotation with the Tracker to work. It's a great substitute for rollercoasters and scary movies (both of which I hate!). Oh and I like the attention I get.

Unfortunately, I think the ratio of road to offroad use is 100 to 1 because of the distance to legal offroading facilities...

Re: How often does your rig see the pavement?

Drive mine everyday as it is my primary vehicle.I put atleast 50 miles a day on it and have been doing it for 6 yrs now.I have only had it lifted for about a year though but it hasnt stopped me from driving it or made me want to buy something else for my DD. I did put all this into consideration when I started doing mods on it so it would do good onroad as well as off.

Re: How often does your rig see the pavement?

I drive mine EVERY DAY!!
It was destined to be trail only, but it drives so well (YJ's S/R 33") that I love to drive all the time. I recently stuck a 91 tranny in and the 5th is short so, my newly installed 1.6 8V (LOVE IT ! ) is turning like nuts for the moment.
This whole thing is turning out to be an adventure of, do I keep going with this rig or build a trail only truck (other LWB). I have t make a move soon on tire size so the Toy axles and tracker auto would be headed under the present rig. OR do I start ALL over and go trail only on my other LWB.....Either way I'll keep driving this one on the road till it "can't" be driven because of the police and laws...
Everyone I know doesn't understand WHY I drive my (their opinion) POS on the road in the first place. I think in part it's a statement, I do because I can!
I have to admit that I'll be putting the hardtop on soon as the bikini top is not offering the warmth I'm looking for....It's getting chilly up here in the morning now (high 30's F).
So that's my story and I'm sticking to it !!!!

I don't too much, mostly because I don't like the hydro assit on the the street(VERY slow return to center). If anything I'll drive it to my sons school or to 7-11 for a slurpee LOL that's about it

Daily driver. I've got a x-90 project that will soon be my daily driving truck. The samurai is AWESOME off the highway, but I'm getting old, hahahah

Re: How often does your rig see the pavement?

I drive mine on the road every chance I get since it gets much better gas mileage than the 4Runner and is alot more fun to drive.

Every day. It help to keep the miles off the tow rig, besides it's fun to drive.
