Super Sami my A$$

Is this a joke or what? Sure it is an awsome looking rig, but how can you call it a samurai? Just because part of the body is on there it is a samurai? If it had all suzuki drive train i would be impressed.

Re: Super Sami my A$$

hey steve, as far as the rig goes man, im pretty much with you. down here in the hills of tenicee, we call em half breeds or hybrids. even if it looks like a zuk. take a s-10 cab on a one ton frame with propane powered big block sittin on 46's on rockwells, it shore as heck aint no steenkin s10 no more. BUT, even if it aint a zuk or s10, its the guys attitude that matters. if yer cool, dont matter, ill wheel witcha, if yer not, i wont. seems i remember a heckova endo from a black wrangler last time i was in livingston, mightta been a *eep, but he was pretty dern cool along with most everybody else. needta hook up n wheel agin sometime man.

Well, it's obvious that you are a purest. I kinda am too. I do have Suzuki axles, motor, blah, blah, blah. But is mine a Samurai now since it has a coil suspension and not leaf springs? You decide. I think the point here is that the Vehicle in question is one super capable off-road rig. I would probably give my left nut to own such a vehicle.

Samurai? I don't know. I'm just glad the guy didn't build a Jeep

The tube doors are pretty sweet . I gotta agree with Billy Bob though its a Tn hybrid for sure . Heck I am suprised it doesnt run on propane . It seems to be a well built rig though .

Re: Super Sami my A$$

I agree it doesn't look like a Samurai to me, the thing has a complete custom built tube frame looks like, so nothing on it is vintage Suzuki, hell they probably just say that cause at one time it WAS a Samurai but they completely destroyed it and built that thing. The only thing they probably saved from the original Samurai was the VIN number.

It;s just a tube buggy with some samurai sheet metal on it. Doesn't make it a Samurai in my book.

Re: Super Sami my A$$

Puting coil springs or 1/4 eliptical suspensions i have no problem with. But when you replace the complete drive train and motor, How can you still call that a zuk..If they would have built the rig with suzuki components or made custom components to work with suzuki parts i would be impressed. But i think just the zuk body alone would not qualify in my book as a samurai. A few years ago there was a guy in the Top Truck Challange that put a zuk body on a jeep frame and called that a samurai. Just my thoughts

Re: Super Sami my A$$

howdy,
well call it what ya want. i call mine a sammi, but stupid people call it a jeep. i run parts from jeeps, sidekicks, fords, and some dodge stuff. (but no more chevy stuff...different topic).
i have a buddy that has a 57 f100. he calls it a f100, but it runs a 390 with a pinto/mustang frame. the state calls it a f100 mod.
so i guess it all comes down to what you want to call it. heck i wear shoes, but some call them work boots, but i wear them all the time, and i ain't working all the time.
