Fusable Link/ Alternator

Roundin the corner on my way to my Daughters soccer game and the Sammi dies. Turns out it blew the link. I go home and get #2's link and when I hook it up sparks come from the alt. I am assuming(I know) that it is just a shorted alt or is there more to look into? I disconnected the alt and the Zuke runs fine although I don't get an alt light on the dash which kinda surprises me. Also I know there was talk a while back on replacing the link with a fuse or breaker. Did anyone do it and if so how? TIA. Jim

Re: Fusable Link/ Alternator

take a fuse holder and connect it to the bat term. and run extra wire to the end where the fusable link stops
use the correct wire for the fuse you want most are 10ga which is 30am
