More Rolled Pics

Since everyone's on seems to be on the cage and safety topic lately, let me share with you the reason I built such a beefy monstrosity.

The factory roll bar and top metal are almost worthless.

Here are some pics after a local wheeling trip. We were doing nothing very difficult, nothing we haden't done before a hundred times, we just tried a little "harder" line and wound up on our side.

The first pic is the flop. The second & third are the resulting damage.

The flop was not hard but it was over 90* which really put stress on the factory pieces.

With a little more momentum we could have easily gone on over and I am scared to think what could have happened to my passenger and I if that happened.

You be the judge.

Windshield, top metal, targa, and factory roll bar are all bent beyond repair.

New top metal and roll bar from j-yard =$50
New windsield = $110 installed locally.

Re: More Rolled Pics

Have you tried your doors yet, to see if they still fit?

I believe that was the first thing I messed up by flopping over. We tried to pull the top hinge back out but it was a no go situation. Winter's a coming and it's gonna be awfully cold with no top or doors. Good thing it's gonna spend most of the time in the shop.

wasn't there anything else to pull you out besides a jeep?

Re: More Rolled Pics

I put all new top metal and roll bar on from a J-yard.

The doors did need a little adjusting but they fit.
The "latch" or hook that the door hooks onto in the door jamb is adjustable. Just loosen the screws and it will slide up and down.

Re: More Rolled Pics

I'm talking about the hinge. The thing you cut to make the doors removable. Mine is squashed in so bad the door hits the dash when you try to close it.
